今月のホームアクティビティについて。このクラスでは現在 "Tumtum"を学習中です。昔のアメリカンインディアンの暮らしぶりがお話と歌になっています。今では、ネイティウ”アメリカンと呼ばれていますね。タムタムのお母さんはやさしいですか、きびしいですか。自分のお母さんと似ていますか。Na na hi na ha ha のうたは昔のスー族の歌で、タムタムの世界に子どもたちが自然に入って行くための大切な導入部分です。すこしのんびりしていて一見時間のムダのように思えますがゆったりとした時の流れを楽しむ気分でお聴きください。 このクラスは22日（土）も授業があります。

Wolfgang's Apple Party を学習中。 家庭での黙って文字追いが土台となって授業が楽しくなります。 リスニングの習慣もすこし向上したかな？ 算数国語の勉強とちがって、英語は聴くことがすべての基礎です。そして音読できるまで聞き込んだ後に、様々な勉強が可能になります。 一般動詞や形容詞のカードゲームも家でたくさん文字追いした人がたくさん取れるわけです。Reading Check Summary は必ず持ってくること。

Wolfgang's Apple Party もスタート以来、約３ヶ月が経過しました。小６初心者クラスなのですが、ききこみは案外よくて、意味調べも快調に進んでいます。 新入生が聴きこみ（黙って文字おい）の家庭学習の意味がまだわかっていないようです。他の英語教室と根本的に違うのは、この点なので、今までの英語教室の悪癖を早く直しましょう。 時間が無かった、は言い訳ですね。

現在は英検3級エッセイを中心にすすめています。内容を味わうことと同時に、「原訳」によって文章構造の理解を深めることがねらいです。小学５．６年ならではの学習スタイルですが、少し集中力に限界がありますから、Verb Cards でゲーム的要素をいれて行きます。

The Story of the Old Woman and Her Pig を学習中。これは積み上げ話と呼ばれるジャンルのお話ですが、一般動詞の命令形を自然に理解する絶好の教材です。また、won't 〜 のパターンをおぼろげに頭に入れるのにも役に立っています。 夏休みの課題：朗読テープを8月２５日までに提出すること。ワークシート5枚。

Magic Words for Sale 学習中。 聴きこみの習慣もやっと定着してきました。 文法の枠を超えた、多種多量の英語を存分にシャワーのように浴びせることの重要性は、後に始まる英検の長文エッセイを学習する際、はっきりとわかります。あちらにもこちらにも、みたことのある表現がでてきます。

Jack and the Beanstalk と英検3級エッセイを中心に進めています。 ぢゃがいもさんが3級に合格しました。5年生としてはまずまず。なるたい君も4級合格。転塾してからの初挑戦なので、来年1月には3級合格を目指していこう！（10月の受験も必修です）3級に一応合格しても、読解部分の習熟度が８０％になるまでは、今の学習形態を続けてゆきます。

土曜ISG-4 1：００〜 ２：２５p.m.
Overview
The ISG course is an especially designed program for younger students who already possess outstanding language skills. The primary focus of the course is the enhancement of the children's already well developed abilities and guidance towards success in their respective levels of Eiken.
The curriculum has several aims. It is predominantly story based, engaging the students in the world of English language storytelling. Work Systems designed around the stories encourage both the development of advaned sentence making techniques and variant uses of new vocabulary. Some exercizes motivate the students to employ English creatively and imaginatively. Games and competitive puzzles also are used to balance the disciplined work of grammer study and Eiken preperation. The ISG course is simultaneously one of enjoyment and intensive learning.
At the moment
We are currently studying a quite advanced vocabulary, building story "Drippy, the runaway raindrop" by Sidney Sheldon. This week we completed work sheet 4 about Drippy's meeting with Leapy the grasshopper. We made lists of things we have never seen that we would like to see and things we would like never to see. We employed different uses of the verbs pounding and waving and practiced our new vocabulary. We discussed large numbers, millions, billions and trillions. In additon we applied formulas for success in the Eiken essay section and enjoyed the favorite shoppiong game . All students are applying themselves diligently.

金曜ISG-6
The ISG 6 Class is mainly focused on Eiken Essays, Sentence structure,Grammar and English conversation.The lesson consists of 6 sections, ex, Warm up, Reading the Essay Text, Explaining the unknown words that the students are unfamiliar with, Putting the unknown words into personal sentences, Answering the questions in the Essays and finally a conversational game to finish up the lesson.Our ISG students have an advanced vocabulary due to their highlevel of achievment with the Eiken system. Our main goal is to use that vocabulary and make sentences which the students can use in real life communicative situations. We also guide the students and assist them in finding solutions and show them how to find the key words in the text. At the moment we are studying the Eiken 3rd grade Essays, however the students are progressing rapidly and are almost advancing to the Pre 2nd level.
One of the favorite and most enjoyed conversational activities we do is called Charades.This game involves one student becoming a Person, Animal or thing however the student is unaware as to to what he/she may be, therefore the student has to ask numerous questions to find out what he/she is.This game can sometimes be challenging however the students
enjoy it every week without fail.

The IS Infants is primarily focused on story telling.
Each week we read sections of a story, After reading that particular section we ask a variety of imaginative and real life questions about the characters and situations that occur in the story. This promotes creative thinking and also encourages the students to express their thoughts and opinions,at the same time we guide them towards correct sentence structure.
Each week the students do a worksheet related to the story that has numerous questions that promote creative writing about the story and also about the students own life experiences .The worksheet also reinforces the stories vocabulary and the students comprehension.
During and after the lesson we also play short and enjoyable games to keep the students motovation levels up and to keep healthy balance in the class.
At the moment we are reading a story called Jack and the Beanstalk.
Last week we come across a situation where Jack had sold his and his mothers only possesion for some magic beans, making his mother very angry.
The students were asked to think of some situations were they had made someone angry and how they could have resolved the problem and how to avoid those situations in the future.
